My philosophy: understand before intervening
In complex pelvic surgery, details matter: careful assessment, experience, strategy, precision and respect for every structure. I approach disease as a three-dimensional process and seek the source of symptoms beyond what is immediately visible.
Recurrent pain deserves reassessment
I do not believe pain should simply be accepted. Nor does every recurrence of pain necessarily mean that endometriosis has returned. Deep disease, fibrosis, adhesions, nerve involvement or other causes may need assessment before another ovarian operation is considered.
Individual treatment and long-term follow-up
I discuss postoperative hormonal treatment in the context of the disease, symptoms, surgical findings, reproductive plans and long-term strategy. Decisions are made with the patient, explaining the role, benefits and limitations of treatment in her circumstances.
Building a multidisciplinary centre
I am establishing a centre dedicated to complex pelvic conditions, bringing advanced gynaecological surgery together with colorectal surgery, urology, imaging, pain management and other relevant specialties. This is a centre in development, grounded in shared responsibility for care.
The purpose of treatment
Endometriosis can resemble tangled threads: understanding it takes patience, careful mapping and sometimes more than one step. My aim is to understand the patient, protect organs, nerves and fertility wherever possible, and work towards less pain and better function with realistic expectations.
